Skin whitening extract from Citrus tachibana of the Rutaceae Family

CHINPI EXTRACT K65B^™ is a skin whitening extract derived from the peel of tachibana oranges (Citrus tachibana), a member of the Rutaceae family.
The tachibana orange is the first citrus plant to appear in Japan’s historical records. In fact, many poems about the tachibana orange can be found in Manyoshu, Japan’s oldest anthology of poetry. The peel for the tachibana orange is known as the Chinese herbal medicine “Kippi.” From long ago, the peel has been used in Japan as a folk medicine.

1. Features

Inhibits melanin formation
CHINPI EXTRACT K65B^™ inhibits melanogenesis in HM3KO cultured human melanoma cells.
It acts as a skin whitening extract by inhibiting melanogenesis through suppression of the biosynthesis of tyrosinase.
Active ingredients identified
The active ingredients are nobiletin and tangertin, both of which are polymethoxyflavones.

Description	This product is an extract made from the mature peel of Satsuma oranges (Citrus unshiu Markovich) or the oranges of other closely related plants (in the Rutaceae family). It is extracted through water, ethanol, or 1,3 butylene glycol, or a mixture of those liquids.
Appearance	Light yellow to yellow-brown liquid, with a faint characteristic odor
Identification	The evaporation residue of this product was dissolved in ethanol, a magnesium ribbon and hydrochloric acid were added to the supernatant liquid, and the mixture was left alone. The liquid then developed a light red to dark red color.
