Effect of policosanol on small dense LDL cholesterolismall dense LDLj

Effect of policosanol on the reduction of small dense LDL cholesterol

20 adult men, ingestion on policosanol at 16.6mg/day for 4 weeks

Small dense LDL decreased by 9.1% after taking policosanol for 4 weeks (significant difference)

reduction of small dense LDL cholesterol

Why does policosanol reduce small dense LDL?

Small dense LDL cholesterol is known to increase in correlation with triglyceride (TG).We think that policosanol affects the suppression of LDL size reduction by suppressing the synthesis of triglyceride.

Policosanol suppresses the expression of lipid metabolism-related enzymes.
