VERBENA OFFICINALIS EXTRACT BG is an extract of verbena (Scientific name: Verbena officinalis; common name: verbena), a plant belonging to the Verbenaceae family. It is extracted from verbena with 1,3-buthylene glycol aqueous solution (80%). This product is made only with verbena cultivated in Okinawa, Japan.
The whole plant of verbena contains verbenalin. Verbenalin is known to have an anti-inflammatory and a hemostatic action. In traditional Chinese medicine, it is used as an emmenagogue and a remedy for conditions such as jaundice, diarrhea, blister, and women’s diseases. As a folk medicine, verbena leaves are also massaged and applied to sites affected by skin diseases.
