Involvement with Local Communities

Contributing to Local Communities as a Corporate Citizen

Aiming to Achieve Two-way Communication

NOF’s long history of corporate activities has made us fully aware that we are a company that has to coexist with local communities. Corporate social responsibility is much talked about nowadays, and an important condition for the sustainable development of any company is “corporate transparency” underpinned by the disclosure of corporate information.

For these reasons, NOF is committed to enhancing two-way communication between the NOF Group and its stakeholders.

Interaction with Communities and Support for Regional Environmental Activities
NOF believes dialogue between the Group, local communities and society is vital. In fiscal 2004, NOF actively worked to create opportunities for this dialogue, including participating in regional Responsible Care meetings (sponsored by the Japan Responsible Care Council) in Kawasaki and Oita. NOF also supported regionally organized activities such as plant visits by local residents.

NOF also believes it’s important to enhance communication with local residents by opening up plants to visitors. Looking ahead, we intend to have plants permanently open to visitors, thereby strengthening the trust of local residents.
