Characteristics
NOF's coating solution for protective membranes comprises a resin component and hardening agent. With new products, the reactive functional groups of the hardening agent are temporarily protected by NOF's blocked acid hardening technique, realizing lower viscosity and advanced uniform properties. The solution is also stable because the resin component is not reacted with the hardening agent until it undergoes its own reaction. This realizes groundbreaking improvements in workability during the coating process and in the membrane properties after hardening. The finished membrane is therefore exceptionally even and flat, allowing the uniform attachment of the electrode, and consequently, improved screen responsiveness and picture quality.
Protective membranes are seen as a necessary material to bring the useable life and durability of LCP panels up to the levels demonstrated by CRT products. Because NOF's protective membrane can be used for long periods, it is ideal for large-scale and extended coating processes. Using this product also eliminates blockages in slit coaters, and thanks to the deposition of fine particle components, any drop in process yield is prevented. Additionally, there is no defective hardening, resulting in highly reliable LCD panels.
The above characteristics mean NOF's protective membrane product has an important role to play in creating the higher quality and larger screens the market needs today. |
