Lipidure-A and Lipidure-C Hair Care Ingredients

Background
In recent years, many hair-coloring products have incorporated an alkaline hydrogen peroxide solution to bleach hair. However, this removes fat from the surface of the hair as well as protein from the hair strands during the oxidation process. Repeated dyeing can lower the ability of hair to retain moisture, resulting in damage such as dryness, loss in luster, and tangling. In response, many companies are developing products that can restore the health of hair that has been damaged by repeated coloring and bleaching.

Characteristics
LIPIDURE® is a polymer of 2-methacryloyl-oxyethyl phosphorylcholine, which is a part of phosphorylcholine, the polar radical of phospholipid and the main component of the cell membranes. Since LIPIDURE® is similar to a biological membrane, it is readily accepted by the body. Able to absorb and retain moisture as well as limit skin damage, LIPIDURE® is used primarily as an ingredient for skin care products.
(Product names: LIPIDURE®-HM, LIPIDURE®-PMB)

LIPIDURE®-A and LIPIDURE®-C were developed as hair care versions of the widely used LIPIDURE® series for skin care products. NOF formulated versions A and C, which are ideal for hair care and are safe and as effective for retaining moisture, low abrasiveness and flexibility as the other LIPIDURE® products. Damaged hair needs only be treated with a gel that contains LIPIDURE® to regain its normal beauty and texture.
