Make fibers resemble inner tissues by
  • Forming water-retaining gel membrane on fiber surface,
  • Adding a structure resembling the intercellular lipid lamella structure of horny layers, and
  • Increasing water and moisture absorbency.

  • Forming water-repelling membrane on fiber surface,
  • Forming a structure resembling the intercellular lipid lamella structure of horny layers, and
  • Increasing flexibility and skin-protective power.

Durability to laundering of LIPIDURE®-MF3-processed fabric

Fabric tested Polyester cotton (65%, 35%) knit fabric
Processing Processing agent: LIPIDURE®-MF3
Concentration: 5%
Acetic acid: 0.05%
Procedure 1. Immerse the fabric in LIPIDURE®-MF3
2. Wring the fabric (wringing percentage: 80%)
3. Dry the fabric (100°C 2 minutes)
4. Cure the specimen (150°C 3 minutes)
Surface analysis X-ray photoelectric spectroscopy
Density of MPC on the surface is measured.

The lamella structure of LIPIDURE®:
  • Protects the skin because its corneous-tissue-like structure retains moisture and blocks irritants.
  • Gives soft and comfortable texture because the skin-like structure is flexible and temperature responding, and
  • Confines active components of both hydrophilic and hydrophobic properties between the lamellas.

pH at processing
  • MF and NS show better adsorption and durability when processed under acidic conditions.
  • CF can be processed in a wide range of pH and is suited for immersion because it adsorbs well.
  • AF may settle at pH lower than 5.
Drying temperature
  • 250°C, about 2 minutes
  • The durability of MF, CF and AF is improved by curing at high temperatures.

Phospholipid polymers “LIPIDURE®” are widely used in products that need to be especially affinitive to human body, such as cosmetics, medical devices, and contact lenses.

Our skin is exposed to diverse stimuli every day.   The corneous tissue is the outermost layer of the skin.   It has a lamella structure of cells and protects the skin from the stimuli.   The cells are made of phospholipids.

Phospholipid-like structures are encased in polymers.   The polymers in form of nano-particles are dispersed in water.   The nano-particles adsorbs on fiber surface and rearrange their structure at drying.   A lamella structure is formed and enhances the barrier functions of the skin.
